Fuel Bond Policy
Fuel Bond (Refundable)
All hire machines supplied by MarKay Outdoors are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned full at the end of the hire period.
To ensure this, a refundable fuel bond applies to all hire machines and is charged at checkout.
Fuel Bond Amounts
The fuel bond applied depends on the type of equipment hired:
- $80 Fuel Bond – Kanga Loaders
- $40 Fuel Bond – Small Hire Equipment (including stump grinders, trenchers, augers, aerators, dethatchers and similar machinery)
The applicable fuel bond will be clearly shown during the booking and checkout process.
Fuel Bond Refunds
- If the machine is returned with a full fuel tank, the fuel bond will be refunded in full.
- If the machine is returned not full, the cost of refuelling (including fuel and reasonable handling time) will be deducted from the fuel bond.
- Any remaining balance of the fuel bond will be refunded.
Fuel bond refunds are typically processed within 24–48 hours after the machine has been inspected.
Important Notes
- Fuel bonds are refundable only, not a fuel pre-purchase.
- Fuel levels are checked upon return.
- Photo or visual verification may be used to confirm fuel levels.
- Fuel bonds apply per hire machine unless otherwise stated.
Customer Responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to:
- Use the correct fuel type for the machine
- Refuel the machine before return
- Return the machine in the same fuel condition as supplied
Failure to comply may result in deductions from the fuel bond.
