My Story

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to learn a little more about me and MarKay Outdoors.

I’m a Mackay local, a proud dad to two boys, and the owner-operator behind MarKay Outdoors.

By trade, I’m a boilermaker and I currently work as a crane operator in the mining industry. I’ve always enjoyed working with machinery, solving problems, and finding practical ways to get jobs done safely and efficiently.

That passion eventually led me to start MarKay Outdoors — a local equipment hire business focused on helping homeowners, DIYers, tradies, and contractors access quality equipment without the hassle or expense of owning it themselves.

When you contact MarKay Outdoors, you’re dealing directly with me. From answering enquiries and maintaining equipment to helping customers choose the right machine for the job, I’m personally involved in every hire.

I understand that not everyone hiring equipment has experience using it, so I take the time to explain how things work and make sure customers feel confident before they head off to tackle their project.

Outside of work and business, my biggest priority is my two boys. They’re a huge motivation behind everything I do and a big reason why I’m passionate about building something of my own.

My goal with MarKay Outdoors is simple: provide reliable equipment, honest service, and make hiring machinery easy for locals throughout Mackay and surrounding areas.
